Key West - tropical getaway, USA

Key West Florida: Had a fabulous three days in the Florida Keys. Located at latitude 25 degrees north, Key West's lush green palm trees, turquoise seas and crimson hibiscus wildflowers made for a visually exciting holiday.

The sunset at Mallory Square draws a crowd. People congregate more for the social fun than the sunset. As far as sunsets go I prefered the one from Zane Greys Lounge Balcony at Islamorada (Mile Marker 81.5). It was Ladies' night on the night we drink and food for the ladies.

The palm fronds continue to inspire fashion and decor in this tropical paradise. Men in palm print shirts blend in with the palm prints on the easy chairs. Palms are indeed the camouflage print for tropical destinations. Luckily I came across a store in Key West that sold fabric with the authentic Key West palm: palms on black, palms on natural, palms on rust. I bought some of each to make lightweight travel totes to sell on my website.
